Yardley Quick Dry – Moonlight Magic Swatch

This is the second Yardley Quick Dry (Limited Summer Edition) polish that I bought. You can see the Summer Sun swatch here. This range of Yardley Quick Dry polishes, as far as I know, was only released in South Africa. I got it on sale, so I assume that it’s from last season. I still like it though (and, who can resist a sale??).

This colour is called: “Midnight Magic”. I really love this colour! It’s got a beautiful, midnight blue, rich colour. There’s also a subtle violet shimmer which I love. What do you think?

Compared to the yellow that I swatched a few days ago, this takes much fewer coats to cover the nail completely. The Summer Sun yellow took 3-4 coats! This covers nicely with only 2 coats.

It’s easy to apply (again, loving the applicator brush shape and size) and the consistency is good. All in all – I like! Here’s a summary of my thoughts on this polish:

I added some studs to spruce it up a bit..

Halloween Challenge: #4 Gothic

I hope you have all had a fabulous weekend! I’ve had a very relaxing and restful one.

Here is my design for the “Gothic” theme. I’m not sure if it’s really Gothic, but I tried! I used a Modi deep red that I had from Korea (number 68 – my Korean is quite rusty, but I think it’s called “Riding Hood”). I left some of the nail natural. I also went a bit gem-crazy. It’s nice to go over the top once in a while πŸ™‚

Bright blue…

I did this manicure today and I’m still deciding if I like it or not. What do you think? I thought it was kind of eye catching and different, so I decided to enter it as my second picture in Mommy Loves Nail Polish’s awesome Facebook contest, you can check out all the pics on her Facebook page.

About 80% of my polishes are in a box on their way back to South Africa right now, so I’ve got really limited colours to work with. I bought this blue about 2 days ago (just what I need a few days before leaving the country – more luggage!). But I couldn’t resist, it was less than $1, it’s a brand called Organic Farm and not bad for the price! This is a lumo deep blue. Then I stamped on top of it with Konad M83 and added some red gems. Hot or not? I’m still undecided.

I really enjoyed taking this mani out on the town today. It was bright and the perfect nail art to have for the day I had. My boyfriend and I went to a theme park, Lotte World in Seoul. It was a lot of fun! I went on my first roller coaster and screamed my lungs out! I wish I had a photo of me on the ride, it would have been priceless! But here’s a photo of Lotte World anyway πŸ™‚

Time for a cute, daisy manicure

I’m happy with this, it looks so cute and simple. I used a nude under coat (Holika Holika) then I used a dotting tool to make cute little flowers. I put some diamante jewels on the pinky as an accent. That’s it. Simple, cute, easy… πŸ™‚ I hope you like it!

Lilac and Lines

These are the last few days of vacation, so I’ve been trying to relax and do as little as possible – hence the lack of posts lately. Sorry about that, but I will get back into the swing of things soon πŸ™‚

Here is a very simple manicure. I did a lilac undercoat (an unnamed polish from The Face Shop) and I used a white 2-way nail art brush/pen to make the stripes. I used to be so scared of doing lines freehand, but these long brushes for nail art are super handy. It’s so easy to do lines now, although they aren’t perfect, they look fine πŸ™‚ Then I added some nail gems to the pinky.

I like how it turned out πŸ™‚ I hope you all like it..

Gradient blast

This is my first post since Christmas πŸ™‚ I hope everyone had a happy Christmas day πŸ™‚ I got an amazing camera from my boyfriend for Christmas, so I’m really excited to learn how to use it and use it for my blog. Also maybe dabble in some other photography πŸ™‚

I did a gradient with a tape pattern and a jewel accent nail. I used a random purple and Holika Holika peach combination for the gradient. I cut scotch tape into triangles for the tape design. This is the result.. I hope you like it πŸ™‚

I wanted to do something simple and elegant for Christmas, so I re-created the simple Christmas tree manicure. Here is a link to a picture tutorial from Girls Hue. But this mani has been really popular this year so I’m sure you’ve seen it.

Here it is πŸ™‚ Merry Christmas everyone!
