French Floral Decals

Happy Tuesday everyone! Every day brings us closer to the Festive Season, the end of the year and yet another year to come. Can you believe it??

I’ve been very busy with work lately. I also can’t wear outrageous nails to work (I wish I could!). So I did a very simple French style mani, with a little floral decal or two (leftover from Korea)Β to spice it up!

I used a Modi white and a Face Shop glitter topcoat (all from my time in Korea).. I know what you are thinking, and yes, I do need to go shopping in South Africa and top up my polish collection πŸ™‚

Interview nails

I want to start this post of by thanking The Nailinator for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. I have already done a post on it, but I’m am still flattered, honoured and appreciative πŸ™‚

I’ve officially entered the job hunt, and those of us who live in South Africa know just how challenging that can be. I was thrilled to receive a call only 2 days after posting my CV on an online job searching site. So, the following day (Thursday this week to be exact) I went in for an interview.

Now, I couldn’t go rocking a pink, blue and generally lumo water marble or some other extroverted nail art choice. So, I went the tried and tested french manicure route. I did add a little silver sticker, which I LOVE, that I got in Korea. I also went for a nude undercoat as opposed to the traditional pink. I’m very happy with how it looks! I’ll have to wait and see how the interview went. I have a different interview on Monday, so I hope that goes well. I’m excited to start working and to start my career. This may be the first of many more “career nails” to come. But I promise to still do outrageous, colourful designs on the weekend! πŸ™‚

Here it is, I hope you like:

Day 18 – Something classic

I decided to do a version of a French Manicure πŸ™‚ I love French Manicures AND they are classic. This one didn’t turn out too Christmassy, I added some tape to try spice it up. But I realised that I don’t have red or green tape (Christmas colours).. But, I did my best and this is how it turned out πŸ™‚

I used a Konad light pink that is very transparent as an undercoat, then I used tape and Sally Hansen White On to make a French manicure effect. After that I used blue and black tape and a lace black tape on one nail as an accent. That’s it! πŸ™‚

Cute and Girly

Happy Friday to everyone πŸ™‚ It’s been a long week! I just want to do a quick post..

This is similar to a manicure I did a few weeks ago, tiny dotting french manicure. I also did an accent nail with some cute flowers. It’s a very cute, girly mani.

I used an ancient Yardley French Manicure Pink (I’ve had it for years, but it’s just a plain pink for french manicures), I also used a Modi pink, Sally Hansen “White on”, Skin Food lime green and some silver nail art tape. I used a dotting stick with a really small tip to make tiny dots. Its super cute and cheerful, it brightened up my day today πŸ™‚ I hope you like it!Β  What do you think?

Stickers and shells

A while ago I had a small online spree. I bought all sorts of nail art things to try out. One of those things was crushed shells. I’ve been dying to try them and tonight I finally did. I found the shells quite scratchy, but I found that if you put on a thin layer of shells and lots of top coat then it feels smoother.

I also used sticker french manicures for the first time. I got these cute, shiny white stickers from a local store called Skin Food.

I also used an opaque Konad pink and a OPI top coat πŸ™‚ I hope you enjoy my mani! Let me know what you think πŸ™‚

Hand Painted Cherry Blossoms

I got a little bit carried away tonight, but I love the result. I was looking for something to spice up a french manicure (my favourite type of mani) and I decided to tackle the cherry blossom again. I can’t hold it in anymore, I’ve just got to show you:

I’ve tried it once in a very simplistic style, this time I did a bigger version. Here are some of the pics that I used as inspiration for the design:

I basically just used a small brush and used pink, white (Konad), purple, a tiny bit of yellow and a deep purple (The Face Shop). I started with french tips, painted the branches and added the flowers layer by layer.

I really like the result, what do you think?

Subtle pink mani

I was messing around with more dotting and some muted pinks. I added a bit of bling to make it a bit more edgy. I love the index finger, I tried to make a french manicure with small white, pink and gray dots. But, I think I may have ruined it with all the jewels. What do you think?

I used some Organic Farm pink and gray nail polish, nail art jewels and Konad white for this mani. I hope you like it!
