Christmas with FLP: Inspired by Christmas colours

Hello all you lovely people!

I hope that everyone has had a fantastic weekend! It’s only a few weeks until Christmas and I’m beginning to get very excited for the break!

Today’s challenge was: Inspired by Christmas colours. I must say, mine aren’t the traditional Christmas colours, but I really love how it turned out. I created some thick stripes with normal scotch tape that I cut in half. Then I hand painted some green holly leaves and used a dotting tool to create the berries (with a smaller white accent).

I hope you like it as much as I do:

Halloween Challenge: #5 Trick or Treat

Hello there lovely people!

I must be honest, this is not my favourite mani! But, for the sake of the Halloween Challenge, I’m going to post it. You can let me know what you think….

I tried to create a really subtle candy cane stripe effect. I also had a brilliant (or not so) to add that fluff as stripes. Naturally, it went everywhere! So now that I’ve managed your expectations, here it is:

Simple lines..

This is one from the archives. I was just playing around and I created this mani. I used a Face Shop for the undercoat. I then put a silver stripe down the center and added metal studs as an accent on one nail.

I love the idea of putting a single stripe down the center of a nail, what do you think?

Lilac and Lines

These are the last few days of vacation, so I’ve been trying to relax and do as little as possible – hence the lack of posts lately. Sorry about that, but I will get back into the swing of things soon πŸ™‚

Here is a very simple manicure. I did a lilac undercoat (an unnamed polish from The Face Shop) and I used a white 2-way nail art brush/pen to make the stripes. I used to be so scared of doing lines freehand, but these long brushes for nail art are super handy. It’s so easy to do lines now, although they aren’t perfect, they look fine πŸ™‚ Then I added some nail gems to the pinky.

I like how it turned out πŸ™‚ I hope you all like it..

Day 20 – Sweets & Candy

I am officially back up-to-date with my posts! Yay! And, I’m really happy with the way this manicure turned out πŸ™‚

I tried to make it look like typical candy cane stripes and two nails with hundreds and thousand looking dots. I think it looks really cute πŸ™‚

Day 18 – Something classic

I decided to do a version of a French Manicure πŸ™‚ I love French Manicures AND they are classic. This one didn’t turn out too Christmassy, I added some tape to try spice it up. But I realised that I don’t have red or green tape (Christmas colours).. But, I did my best and this is how it turned out πŸ™‚

I used a Konad light pink that is very transparent as an undercoat, then I used tape and Sally Hansen White On to make a French manicure effect. After that I used blue and black tape and a lace black tape on one nail as an accent. That’s it! πŸ™‚

Day 7 – Ornaments

Sorry for the late post, it’s been a busy weekend! I did these nails a day or two ago, but I haven’t had time to post them yet.

I really struggled with this topic. Eventually, I just Googled it and used a picture for inspiration. I used tons of different random polishes, too many to list. I hope you like it! Here’s the final product πŸ™‚

Day 4 – Silver

I must confess.. I don’t have just a plain silver polish (gasp), I know. Embarrassing. I haven’t had time or money to buy a silver polish, so I decided to just make a plan.

My plan: Pink undercoat, silver decorations. I think it worked out quite well (if I do say so myself). This is one of my fave manicures so far πŸ™‚ yay!

All I used was a Modi (Korean brand which is super cheap and so far has been great) burnt pink with a gold shimmer,Β  a silver two-way nail art pen/brush, and a few silver jewels.

So, this is my silver attempt. Although it doesn’t look very silvery in the pictures, in the light the silver really shines, it is quite pretty πŸ™‚ I hope you like it as much as I do…

Shooting Star Nails

I’m trying to practice my freehand stripes. I wanted to do something fun and different, I like how it turned out. I did a navy base coat (Organic Farm), I then did a stripe of lighter blue (The Face Shop – nameless) and painted the tip purple (The Face Shop – nameless) and then did stripes with a white long nail art brush.

What do you think? I hope you like it πŸ™‚

I love my toes

Here’s a quick Sunday night post about my pedicure (please excuse the chubby feet, let’s just say I could never be a foot model). I don’t often do my toes, so I wanted to so something awesome and striking. I found a great tutorial on “bow and stripes” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CesllaZ6WV8. I did it almost exactly the same, except I used tape for the stripes (safer than freehand). I really love the result! Also, it’s my first O.P.I experience, so I had a lot of fun!

I used O.P.I “Wooden shoe like to know?”, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear “White on”, Organic Farm pink and an O.P.I top coat.

Don’t worry, I won’t have lots of feet pics on this blog. I hope you like the pedi. What do you think?
